KYRKBACKEN HARBOUR

Mooring info and much more

Kyrkbacken is the largest and oldest harbour on the island. Boats come here from far and wide, but this is an especially favourite anchorage for the Danes.
The closest harbours on the Danish side [of the Sound] are Vedbæk, Rungsted and Sletten. It is but a short step from Sletten Harbour to the famous
Louisiana ArtMuseum
If you look up towards Backafall when you arrive, you'll see
THE OLD CHURCH

Here you can enjoy genuine unspoilt nature, bathe from the sandy beaches or watch the boatpeople's craft milling about. If you sail to the island, remember that during the high season the harbour can be crowded. On a hot July's day, you'll need to be out early. When you've settled at your mooring, you can tank your boat up at the filling station and tank yourself up at the kiosk or the Smokehouse. Or what about eating at a gourmet restaurant with its own art gallery?
