SUN & BEACHES

In principle
it is possible to take a swim
anywhere around the island. If you prefer sandy beaches they are mostly situated near the 3 harbours. There are more sand-beaches but not very many. In many places the bottom is filled with rocks and pebbles, and bathing-shoes are recommended. The old concrete-fortresses around the island are excellent as fishing-platforms and to use as base-camp.They are relics from WorldwarII and were an integrated part in what was called the "PerAlbin-Line" of defence. |
